Welcome to the registration page for the 5th International Ocean Colour Science meeting (IOCS-2023). After registering for the meeting you will receive links for submitting an abstract or applying for one of the training sessions. When submitting an abstract for a poster, please have your abstract ready in the correct format (see instructions at https://iocs.ioccg.org/posters).

A registration fee will be charged to help confirm attendance and defray expenses. The registration fee includes participation in all plenary, breakout and poster sessions, as well as tea/coffee breaks, lunch, and the IceBreaker Reception on Tuesday 14 November 2023. Registration fees are heavily discounted if you register early.

Discounted rates are also available for full-time students (copy of student ID required, separate registration form, see below) and participants from institutions within low-income economies

Poster Abstracts

Once you have completed registration for the meeting, you will receive a confirmation email containing a link to the online form for submission of poster abstracts. Abstracts will be posters, only, but will also be included in the IOCS-2023 Poster Lightning sessions. The deadline for submitting an abstract for posters was 15 September 2023, extended to 14 October 2023.

Training Courses

Six no-fee training sessions are being offered prior to the IOCS-2023 meeting. All courses will take place on 13 November 2023 at the IOCS-meeting venue at the University of South Florida. The links to sign-up for these courses will be available after registration. These courses will be on a first-come-first-served sign-up and have limited capacity so please register early to avoid disappointment. There is a separate sign-up form for each training course, but please only register for one course per time slot, as they run concurrently.

Travel Support

Limited travel support may be available for early career scientists and students who can demonstrate both the need for travel support and use of ocean colour radiometry data in their research. To be eligible for travel support, scientists must submit a poster abstract as primary author. You will receive a link to the Travel Support Application Form, after registration. Please apply for travel support by 15 September 2023 (deadline). Notifications about the success of your travel support request will be provided by the beginning of October 2023.

Discounted Accommodation

Participants of the IOCS (and accompanying family, if applicable) are eligible for discounted room rates at select hotels in Downtown St. Petersburg. Visit the logistics page (iocs.ioccg.org/logistics) to find out more and secure your hotel room at the discounted rate by 1 October 2023.

Refund Policy

Requests for refunds must be received by 1 November 2023. The amount of the registration fees paid minus a $50.00 processing fee will be refunded. No refunds will be issued after 1 November 2023.
