Posters

Sharing of science at the IOCS-2025 meeting is facilitated through posters. Posters should be a visual representation of your abstract and should be designed to encourage dialogue. There will be time for discussion of posters between authors and individual participants in an informal social setting. Posters will remain accessible for the duration of the meeting.

Book of Poster Abstracts

All accepted poster abstracts for posters being displayed at the meeting will be listed in the IOCS-2025 Book of Poster Abstracts. You are invited to view it electronically, as it will not be printed.

Coming Soon

Preparing your Poster

Poster boards will be in portrait orientation, with a maximum size for your poster of A0 paper size, 841 mm x 1189 mm (or 33.1 inches x 46.8 inches). Authors should bring their posters to Darmstadt, or personally arrange to have them printed locally.

See contact details of a local printer within walking distance to Darmstadtium:

Web: sedruck-darmstadt.de
Email: darmstadt@sedruck.de
Phone: +49 6151 – 717 396

Your poster should be attractive, concise, and legible from a standing distance, and may include graphs, photos, diagrams, and limited text. Paragraph and figure caption text should be at least 24-point font (0.9 cm high) and headers at least 36 point font (1.2 cm high). Supplies for mounting posters will be provided at the meeting.

Poster Sessions & Poster Hanging

Posters will be on display for the full duration of the meeting and should be hung as early as possible.

  • Posters boards will be available on site from Monday 1 December 2025 at 8 am.
  • All posters should be removed from the poster boards by 5 pm on Thursday 4 December 2025.

Poster boards will be numbered to indicate the location of your poster. Please affix your poster on the board and space corresponding to your poster number.
There will be four poster sessions, one each day. You will be notified in advance (by 15 Oct) about which session your poster will be featured. While you may discuss your poster all throughout the meeting, you should plan to be present at your poster to accept questions during your featured session.

Lightning talks

Each poster session will start with lightning talks from the featured poster presenters of that session who indicated interest. Lightning talks are a quick way to advertise your poster in 30 seconds or less!

Presentation template & upload

Poster Lightning Presenters will be emailed a link during October to upload a Powerpoint presentation (or PDF) containing the following two (2) slides (10 MB maximum) using the instructions and template below:

  • One slide with your poster title, author names and affiliations
  • One content slide related to your poster (preferably images with few to no words for maximum impact)

The dimensions of the slide to fill the screen should be widescreen (16:9). Name the file with the following convention:

Lastname-Firstname-IOCS-2025-Poster-Lightning.ppt or .pdf

Presenters will only be included if the requested 2-slide presentation is uploaded by 25 November 2025.

Presenting your slides in the Lightning Session

Presenters should:

  • line up at the front of the room, as soon as the session has begun, in order of poster number (talk to each other to find out who is in front and behind you)
  • speak for a maximum of 30 seconds!, with 5 seconds to hand the mic over to the next speaker
  • not touch the keyboard/mouse or go over your time. Slides will advance automatically so presenters should not go over their time or they will take the time away from the next presenter!
  • practice with a timer beforehand and enjoy!
