The Salvador Dali museum is a must see while in town but Thursday at 5-8pm is really the only affordable ($14.50 USD) and logistically possible time to visit while attending the meeting.

African American Heritage Trail

Boyd Hill Nature Preserve is open daily during daylight hours with ambassador birds of prey aviary, walking trails, a lake, and a nature center. Note: not walkable from downtown. Requires bus or ride-share.

Shuffleboard, PickleBall and Volleyball courts.

Downtown museums (e.g. James Western, the Chihuly Collection, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Holocaust Museum, and Museum of History). Some museums have reciprocal memberships allowing free admission if you are a member of another participating museum in your town.

Grassroots – Fantastic kava and coffee shop perfect for chilling or grabbing a cup on the go.
Bangkok 9 – some of the best Thai in town at an incredibly affordable price. Awesome service.
Kahwa – fabulous coffees and pastries close to USF.
Pacciugo – Really good ice cream to cool you down.
Cassis – for breakfast they have good coffee and really nice pastries.
Ford’s Garage – good burgers
Red Mesa – good Mexican
The Hangar – good burgers and nice view of the airport.
Renzo’s – A bit higher end specializing in Latin American foods; it’s good
Shrimp Store – good shrimp in many ways, affordable
First Watch – great for brunch
Chattaway – good burgers
Bier Boutique – cool little place to grab a drink
3 daughters brewing – brewery
Grand Central Brewhouse – another brewery
Ted Peter’s – super awesome salmon by the beach
La Segunda – Cuban Bakery on 4th Street N
Datz St Petersburg – American diner/brewery
La V – Vietnamese Fusion restaurant on Central Avenue

Transportation to allow exploration

  • Downtown Looper Trolley: free, but limited service area.
  • Sunrunner: currently free, but might be USD $5 for a daily unlimited ride pass. Connects downtown with St Petersburg Beach.
