The IOCS-2019 organizers are working to secure sponsorship for participants to attend IOCS-2019. Limited funding may be available to assist graduate students and early career scientists attend the IOCS-2019 meeting based on country of origin and research interests. Eligible participants submitting a poster as a primary author may apply for a scholarship.  Participants who use Sentinel-3 data in their research will also be considered for EUMETSAT travel scholarships. After submitting your abstract for a poster you will receive a link to the scholarship application form. You will be requested to provide a motivation statement to explain the focus of your scientific research, your interest in attending the IOCS-2019 meeting and what you hope to achieve. Please prepare this statement (250 words max.) in advance if you intend to apply for a travel scholarship.

Application deadline for travel support is 15 February 2019. Selection of successful participants to receive scholarships will be based on their qualifications, motivation statement, and use of satellite ocean colour data, and not on a first-come first-serve basis. Notifications about travel support will be provided in March 2019.

Note that travel scholarships may only cover a fraction of travel costs, and only a small percentage of all applicants will receive scholarships, so you are also advised to investigate other sources of funding to attend the meeting.
