The IOCS-2019 organizers are working to secure sponsorship for students. Limited funding may be available to assist graduate students and early career scientists attend the IOCS-2019 meeting based on country of origin and research interests. Only students submitting a poster as a primary author are eligible for scholarships. Select the option to apply for travel support when completing the online registration form and you will receive a link to a form for scholarship application. The application form will gather information about your degree and will request a 250 word motivation statement for you to explain the focus of your scientific research, your interest in attending the IOCS-2019 meeting and what you hope to achieve. Please prepare this statement (250 words max.) in advance, if you intend to apply for student scholarships.
Application deadline for travel support is 15 February 2019. Selection of successful participants to receive scholarships will be based on their qualifications, motivation statement, and use of satellite ocean colour data, and not on a first-come first-serve basis. Notifications about travel support will be provided in March 2018. Please note that only a small fraction of all applicants may receive scholarships so you are advised to investigate other sources of funding as well.
